Pathways - Transformational Programming for Incarcerated Women

Pathways is a nationally-recognized program for women with high recidivism rates, mental health issues, and co-occuring substance use disorders. Combining cognitive behavioral therapy, Peace Love art therapy, and individual planning and coaching, Pathways participants are showing significant reduction in recidivism (100% vs 12%) and significant increases in healthy living and pro-social behavior participation. Franklin County Reentry Advisory Board

The Franklin County Reentry Advisory Board is charged with creating safer neighborhoods and more productive residents by increasing the success rates of ex-offenders transitioning from correctional and rehabilitative institutions back into the community. Franklin County First Step

Franklin County First Step meets the first Friday of every month. This event is not like any other Resource Fair that has taken place in Franklin County. Our goal is to ensure that every person who walks away from this event has completed the “first step” on his or her journey to successful reintegration. Whitehall's Help for Overdose initiative

In October 2017, the Bureau of Justice Assistance awarded Franklin County a grant for the Diversion Alternatives-Project Opioid. The project is a collaboration with the City of Whitehall to reduce opioid misuse and the number of overdose fatalities within the 43213 ZIP code through community education, harm reduction efforts, and a Mayor’s diversionary drug court. For more information, contact Caitlin Condon Looney in this office.

Featured Title II Partner: Capital University - mentoring and tutoring programs

Tutoring young residents at the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Facility assists in reading, spelling, writing, and math, giving incarcerated youth a reason to act appropriately. Youth gain in competence and therefore confidence. 98.5% of the youth participating in this program have passed the GED.
